Burn Permits are issued from September 1^st to May 31^st of each year. The Town of Somers does not allow burning during the months of June, July, or August. For further information please contact the State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection.

    To obtain a burning permit please come to the Somers Fire Department Monday through Friday between 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and fill out the State of Connecticut DEP Open Burning Permit Form. An Open Burning Official will then set up an appointment to inspect the site. All permits are valid for the entire burn season from date of issue until May 31^st.
